— About Me
I’m Tilo, a multidisciplinary Designer and UX/UI Design Consultant. After spending the last several years living and working abroad, I'm now back in my beautiful hometown of Berlin, Germany.
Most recently, I’ve been with the global design firm IDEO in Chicago. As part of an interdisciplinary design team, I worked with clients from diverse industries to co-design innovative products and experiences while applying a human-centered design approach. My projects ranged from electric-mobility and digitalization strategies, to designing and prototyping conversational tools by utilizing data science, and creating novel interaction paradigms for architectural applications in augmented and virtual reality.
A German-American Fulbright Scholar, I hold a Master's in Design for Interactions from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. My graduate work focussed on research based-design and designing for artificially intelligent systems, services, and virtual environments dealing with the futures of urban mobility, artificial intelligence as a design material, and designing for the climate crisis.
Prior, I worked as an experience design consultant at design and innovation studio Phoenix Design in Shanghai, in news broadcasting at Deutsche Welle (DW), and in higher-education business development at Apple.
My work has spanned diverse mediums (web, mobile, environments, VR/AR, product) and industries (automotive, healthcare, finance, IoT, robotics, lifestyle) while always closely collaborating with stakeholders and development teams.
